The broadcasting regulator on Monday decided to suspend the licence of CTH for 30 days after the cable television firm ignored a call for plans to help members. The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) handed down the 30-day penalty in a meeting on Monday, with a possibility for CTH Cable TV Co to face stiffer punishment in the future. CTH has been ordered to submit the plan to help members. The company had asked the NBTC to give it more time to submit the plan but the move was turned down. CTH already stopped airing its programmes on the C-band system on Feb 1, followed by KU-band on Sept 1.
